As every group of friends will hang out and do different things, so to do Rover Crews - while every program follows the ideas set out in Scouting, they all approach it different ways.

Our crew has many interests and participates in a huge range of activities including food, cultural and festival events, camping, adventurous activities such as rock climbing, movies, theatre, comedy shows and any number of other activities of which crew members have interest in!
We are also proud of a strong service component to our program and the high level of engagement of our members with the other sections of scouting and the wider community.

Part of the 1st Hawthorn Scout Group, the 1st Hawthorn (Old Scotch Collegians') Rover Crew has met continuously since the first meeting of the crew on June 8, 1931.
The Rover Crew meets on Monday nights at 8pmat the Rover Den (located at 464 Glenferrie RoadHawthorn).
We participate in a wide variety of activities ranging from community service to outdoor activities. We attend camps such as Surfmoot at Anglesea and Mudbash at Yea each year as well as numerous camping and 4wding trips.
Helping the Scotch Scout Troop and Venturer Unit forms part of our service and we regularly volunteer at the group’s camp, Elliot Lodge, located in Healesville.
Most years the Crew also runs its own initiative course at Lal Lal State Forest, designed for Venturers attempting their Queen Scout Award, but open to any Venturer.
The Old Scotch Collegian's Rover Crew welcomes both men and women between the ages of 18 and 26. Everyone is welcome, not just old boys of the school.
